I feel so lucky to have women in my life who inspire and encourage me, make me laugh and support me through thick and thin. As time goes by, I value time spent with girlfriends more than ever.
When my pal Romy Schorr of Romy Raves invited me to a girls’ night out cooking class at HipCooks in downtown LA, sponsored by The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc, I couldn’t resist the chance to spend some QT with a stellar group of ladies.
Like my blog crush, Sarah James of Whoorl, from whom I steal green beauty and style inspiration all the time, and who just happened to be in town! Yay!
After braving rush hour to the LA downtown arts district, we started the night catching up, an intimate group of influencers, tasting The Crossings’ crisp, fruity Sauvignon Blanc. The perfect way to decompress after LA traffic, and celebrate National Sauvignon Blanc day, which yes, it’s a thing.
Next, some knife skills pointers and we made an incredible green bean potato salad with rustic pesto dressing. Super yum.
Seared scallops with a spiedini sauce over confetti rice with roasted fennel came next, which paired perfectly with the Sauvignon Blanc. We talked shop, caught up on love lives and most importantly, discussed the holy grail of finding a comfortable, yet chic sandal for summer. (Which I just ordered, and will be sharing deets soon).
I even got to embrace my inner Great British Baking show nerd by trying my hand at rolling the gluten-free walnut cake with berry whipped cream into a log- a delightful and delicious way to end the evening.
