By now, I've got the dress and shoes and notecards and credentials and red carpet position all squared away. Let's not forget about the hair. Typically, I'm a very low maintenance hair girl, and by low maintenance, I mean, the girl who may or may not have been known to cover a gray hair with a Sharpie. (allegedly!) But with the Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet just days away, I felt the need for a hair update best left to professionals.

I went to see Tina Dizon, the owner of The Private Room in Beverly Hills explaining to her what a hair color newbie I am, omitting mention of alleged Sharpie use, and she totally got me. "Do you trust me?" she asked, to which I instinctively replied, "Yes." Tina's a cool girl, with gorgeous hair, her own business and a small child, so trusting her is no stretch. She worked her magic, carefully selecting pieces and painting the color on, a technique knows as balayage, and voila! I emerged from the salon with yummy, subtle caramel highlights that look natural, and not like an Asian girl doing her best impression of white girl hair.

Love it! Thanks Tina & The Private Room team! See you on the Emmys red carpet this Sunday, live streaming for Yahoo TV! Tweet me there!
